Nourishing ourselves

Nourishing ourselves

hex 27

This hexagram of the I Ching is an illustration of an open mouth. The top line is the upper lip and the bottom line is the lower lip. It talks about spiritual and material nutrition. It brings attention to the various forms of nourishment, not only about what one eats or drinks. To be aware of how we nourish ourselves we may take more care of what we think about, what types of information and fantasies we entertain, what emotions we hold on to and even what sounds or music we listen to. In this hexagram it’s advised that the most important means to obtain spiritual nourishment is through meditation. Through meditation we can renew ourselves and find peace and tranquility. Through creating this inner space through regular meditation, light and creativity flows into our lives and we find the correct solutions to any problems. It is that simple!
